Howto: Bypass Aion Auto-Disconnection

Aion, Guides

Untitled

If you stay ingame for a while and do nothing, you will disconnect. Disconnection right now is very very bad, because it would take several hours to log in again due to the queue. We, Aion players were abusing the private stores to avoid auto-disconnections, but NCSoft released a new patch today that sets the max. time of a private store to 30 min. That means, if you open a private store, the game will disconnect itself after 30 minutes. This is no good, so I’ve been thinking for a new way how to bypass the auto-disconnections.

I’ve got three working solutions for ya:

1. Raping A Training Dummy

First and my favourite one is hitting a training dummy, just like on the screenshot above. I’ve tested it for over 30 minutes and wasn’t disconnected, so I assume it’s working fine.

2. Wallh4x!

Sounds complicated? It isn’t! Know the “NUM LOCK” key on your keyboard? I bet you do! Also you should be aware that this key enables auto-running. Find a good wall and run into it. This will avoid auto-dc’ing.

3. Shake it, baby!shakeit

Andrew_Elbei mentioned in the comments if dancing will also bypass the auto-DC. I of course didn’thesitateand tried it out and it nyerking worked! If you dance, you won’t disconnect! I’ve been shaking my ass for over 30 minutes now and didn’t disconnect. Now go selfish AFK’ers. Shake your asses!

Note: Naturally it should also work with all the other emotes that are running continuously.

4. Mechanical botting with a drinking bird

drinking_bird

Remember this cute drinking bird? Of course you do! It’s from Simpsons when Homer became too fat and had to work from home. (I wish I had such a job :D). If you got such a thing, you may teach it to press the “W” key each time it wants to drink. Homer used it to press the “Y” key that stands for “Yes”. (This method has been suggested by @Antaku)

4. Hit me! Harder! Harder! Oh, YEAH!

It’s another suggestion by @Antaku.  If you’ve got a high leveled character, go to the lowest level mobs you know and let them hit you. Also a less-populated place is preferable. As long as the mob continues hitting you, you will remain in the combat state = no DC.

Risks?

Some carebears say it’s “botting”. It nyerking isn’t! You’re only using the ingame features, no 3rd party stuff. Also I couldn’t imagine that NCSoft would start banning players that want to play their game! So use it without any worries.

Got moar?

Know some more cool solutions for this? Let me know, I’ll update my post, once I’ve approved it.

Not sure if it will work or not but, how about leaving your guy dancing? Since the emote keeps looping it might jet you stay logged in, and that would be more entertaining for everyone around you haha.

You are awesome Jasdemi, I support what you are doing 100%.

NCsoft need to work on real fixes like stopping character creation on servers with queues and start moving away from these rubbish server cap levels and finish translating the quests.

thank you, good ideas you got there :)

the que thing is really ridiculous, we should screw ncsoft over whereever we can until this matter is resolved. resolved as in NO que at all, at any given time. you know, like standard in mmos….

Go retro and get a "drinking bird". Strategically position it so that it'll periodically peck at one of the keys in your WASD cluster.

Also, if you have a high-level character, you could stand around next to a Sprigg worker, who tries to feebly poke at your shining armor, in some corner of the universe. I haven't tested this, but since the game would see you as being "in combat" (albeit it being definitely one-sided), you MIGHT be safe from a dc.

That's werid. I've been using this emote for over 3 hours and wasn't disconnected. Maybe there's also a limit to emotes. Damn! :D

Whatever, the queues are getting smaller, imo.

and what about, making a private store!

You get 2 things, money and not getting DC'd

Oh Perp, looks like you missed something. With the last patch, the max. time for private store was set to 30 minutes. So it will DC after 30 min, after you open your private store.

This was a very dumb decision by NCSoft. They ruined the private store feature, while there are still so many ways to bypass DC.

i did autorun a few days ago, and it got me disconnected after 32 minutes so nope :) i think the most certain way to not get disconnected, is getting sucha bird. (thought of that as well, even before i saw that on the internet, strange how ppl can become that evil right? :p)

Few other ways, if you leave your charachter crafting you will not dc…something heavy on a key, if you have the crafting window open (not sure about this) but im pretty sure you wont dc…and turning of screensaver, other monitor off features makes it harder for the game to tell if youve been afk
