Today I’m going to teach how to launch Aion without the NCLauncher. There are be 2 options. One is a little bit easier than the another one. More below.
What’s the point of this?
- Aion will launch even if the patch server is down
- It will start the client immediately without going to the NCLauncher first => a little bit faster startup
- May fix the “Cannot connect to authentication server” issue
- Game starting all in Korean? This might be a possible fix. (Please leave feedback if it helped, so I can edit)
So what are we going to do?
Like I already said, there are 2 options. In one we will create a Aion.exe file and add custom lines to its shortcut. In the second one, we will need a .bat/.cmd file that will launch Aion.bin. What you’re going to use is your choice, both will work the same at the end.
Option #1: The Aion.exe way
- First we need to create Aion.exe - Just follow this Howto (Doing it until the “Step number two: Birth of Aion.exe” part is enough).
- Once you have Aion.exe, right click it and select Send to > Desktop. This will create a shortcut on your Desktop.
- Now go to your Desktop, right click the newly created shortcut and select Properties. A new window will open.
- [for EU players] Paste -ip:206.127.147.28 -port:2106 -cc:2 -noauthgg -noweb -lang:enu into the Target behind the last “(don’t forget a space between them). It should then look like this: “C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSoft\AionEU\AionEU.cmd” -ip:206.127.147.28 -port:2106 -cc:2 -noauthgg -noweb -lang:enu
- [for NA players] Actually it’s the same like above, but you must use the following line: -ip:206.127.153.247 -port:2106 -cc:1 -noauthgg -noweb -lang:enu
- We’re done. You can now execute it.
Note: If you want to change languages to German or French, just edit the -lang:enu line to either -lang:deu or -lang:fra .
Option #2: The Aion.bin way
For this one we will need a .cmd file that will launch Aion.bin. I already wrote one for this, so all you will have to do is to download and extract it.
- EU players download AionEU.rar and Yankees AionNA.rar of course.
- Extract AionEU.cmd or AionNA.cmd into your Aion folder that should be located in C:/Program files/NCSoft
- Now we’re done. See if it works. (Don’t forget to create a shortcut for this one)
Note: If you want to change languages to German or French, just right click AionEU.cmd or AionNA.cmd and select Edit. Inside this file search for the -lang:enu line and edit it to -lang:deu or -lang:fra .
Feel free to ask questions in to comments if you have any troubles. :)

There is no cmd’ ” ‘for me…
How do i paste the IP then?
D:\AionEU\bin32\Aion.exe -ip:206.127.147.28 -port:2106 -cc:2 -noauthgg -noweb -lang:enu
This doesn’t work in english. Only Korean letters at the moment.

Just wanted to let people know that both of this dont fix the “Cannot connect to authentication server” error.
I guess the server is just down.

You’re right. The server was down for maintenance. http://uk.aiononline.com/board/updates/view?articleID=14&page=
